Desert Heart

5 Days / 5 Nights – Circular Hiking Adventure

Day One – Into the Desert Heart

Upon your arrival in Wadi Rum, we’ll get you organized and introduce you to your walking and cooking guides your companions for this epic desert journey.

Once ready, you’ll set off on foot from Rum Village, walking into the wide embrace of the desert.
Your first night will be spent at our private Bedouin Camp, and the adventure begins…

Along the way, you’ll visit key landmarks, each offering a chance to hike, scramble, and explore freely, at your own pace:

  • 1. Lawrence Spring
  • Climb among rocks and fragrant herbs to discover the legendary spring and a solitary fig tree offering shade.
The panoramic view across Wadi Rum is unforgettable – a perfect start to your journey.
  • 2. Small Sand Dune
  • A playful climb up the soft sands rewards you with a grand view of the valley.
Then — why not join the tradition? Jump, run, or roll back down with laughter filling the desert air!
  •  3. Khazali Canyon
  • Step into history. This cool, shaded canyon was once a Bedouin summer haven.
Spot the ancient rock carvings — feet, oryx, and old tales etched into the stone.
  •  4. El Qattar Spring
  • Discover a hidden spring high in the rocks, where Bedouins ingeniously caught precious water.
Nearby, a quiet Bedouin graveyard and vast valley views whisper stories of a timeless desert life.
  •  5. Arrival at the Camp
  • As evening falls, you’ll reach our Bedouin Camp tucked away in the serene white desert:
  • Mattresses and blankets provided in cozy Bedouin tents
  • Two Western toilets and two sun-warmed showers
  • A communal tent for evening gatherings and tea
  • Seclusion and silence – no other tourist camps nearby
  • Enjoy a freshly prepared Bedouin dinner, then lie back and watch the stars unveil their ancient dance across the night sky.
  • The first night marks just the beginning — tomorrow, your true desert hike unfolds even deeper into the heart of Wadi Rum.

Day Two –

  • Journey Deeper into the White Desert
  • After a peaceful breakfast at camp, you’ll shoulder your daypack and head south into the White Desert — a realm of silence, wide-open sands, and sunlit cliffs.
  • Today’s hike reveals hidden treasures few tourists ever see:
  • 1. Small Arch
  • A playful natural rock bridge, perfect for a short climb and a photo op.
You’ll visit this spot early in the day while the desert is still fresh and cool.
  • 2. Harab Anta Cave
  • Step into the shadow of history at Harab Anta Cave.
Once home to a wise man known across the desert for settling disputes, this cave breathes stories of ancient Bedouin diplomacy.
We’ll usually pause nearby for lunch, resting in the cool shade and sharing Bedouin tea prepared over the fire.
  • Towards the Borderlands
  • As the afternoon unfolds, you’ll continue hiking south, inching closer to the Saudi Arabian border, through a land so silent and vast it feels like walking across the memory of time itself.
  • Few visitors reach this far — it’s just you, the sand, the sky, and the whispers of the wind.
  • Second Night – Bivouac Under the Stars
  • You’ll finish the day’s hike at a beautiful secluded spot where your cooking guide will have camp ready:
  • Soft mattresses and warm blankets provided

  • Dinner cooked over the fire

  • An evening of stargazing where the desert sky becomes your own private planetarium

  • Here, with no walls between you and the stars, you’ll sleep as the desert has slept for millennia — wild, free, and full of dreams.

Day Three: The Valley’s Whisper
  • After breakfast in your temporary camp, we will continue hiking on foot towards Rum Village, journeying down the broad and breathtaking Siq Nograh.
  • Siq Nograh:
Although it is called a “Siq,” its wide embrace feels more like a valley carved by time itself. As you descend, the northern views open up magnificently, revealing the desert’s serene beauty.
  • The day’s hike will conclude at Um Momgour, where you will bivouac camp for your third night under the stars. Um Momgour, a stunning mountain north of Siq Nograh, offers incredible vistas across both the red and white deserts—nature’s silent poetry in stone and sand.
Day Four: Dancing with Giants
  • After breakfast, you will lace up your boots once more, setting out with your guide to explore:
  • Um Frouth Arch
Prepare for a bit of light scrambling—or simply marvel at others! This natural rock bridge, sculpted over centuries by water and wind, invites the adventurous to climb to the top… if your heart is brave enough for heights!
  • Abu Khshabyr Canyon
Wander through the serene beauty of this canyon, soaking in its quiet majesty before continuing toward your next camping site.
  • Bivouac Camp: Burdah Arch
Tonight, you’ll sleep in the tranquil shadow of Burdah Arch Mountain. Far from the world’s noise, this peaceful corner of the desert will cradle you in its ancient arms.
Day Five: The Grand Finale
  • After breakfast, lace up for an adventurous morning: an intrepid hike up to the legendary Burdah Arch — a thrilling end to your unforgettable Wadi Rum journey!
  • Following the ancient Bedouin paths, you’ll scramble (using hands and feet) your way up the mountain. A steady head and a taste for adventure will be your companions as you climb closer to the sky. The reward? A breathtaking, sweeping view across the endless desert—one that will etch itself into your soul forever.
    (Estimated time: 2–3 hours.)
  • After returning to the valley floor, you’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch before your final afternoon hike to:
  • Um Ajil
A majestic sand dune standing proudly beside Um Ishrin. From here, gaze back down the valley of Wadi Rum — a view so astonishing, most travelers pass nearby without ever knowing what they missed.
  • Your final night will be spent bivouac camping here, embraced by the silence of the desert and the starlit sky.
Day Six: Farewell, Desert Dream

After an early breakfast, you will return to Rum Village by Jeep, arriving around 8:30 AM to begin your onward journey. It’s a peaceful ride, one that lets you watch the desert awaken with the first light—like a soft goodbye whispered by the dunes.

But… if your spirit still yearns for one last thrill, you may choose an optional extension:
